A rainbow of colors and a waterfall of sounds spilled into a gathering of the government officials, business leaders, and members of the press during the multi-faceted cultural event that brought Jakarta to San Francisco for the first time.

The Indonesian Consulate General of San Francisco and Jakarta City Government hosted the Festival to encourage tourism and business relationships by showcasing Jakarta’s culture, food, dance, music, and arts.
Vindy Lee, a famous Indonesian chef, cookbook author and TV personality, presented to the crowd the traditional dishes of Indonesian cuisine, including chicken and coconut soup, semur (stew in brown gravy), nasi goreng (fried rice with trimmings) and a delectable rice pudding dessert.
Asianto Sinambela, the Consul General of Republic of Indonesia in San Francisco; Matthew Goudeau, the Director of Protocol for the City and County of San Francisco; Mark Chandler, the Director of International Trade and Commerce from the office of Mayor Lee, and others attended the Festival.
