The miniature Snow Village with more than 200 artifacts themed “Small Town USA” is currently on display in the Guinness Book of World Records’ “Largest Hotel Atrium” at Hyatt Regency San Francisco. Created by Glenn Leveque (scenery), Kermit Paul (engineering) and Eric Moe (design, build, and trains) the elaborate display of toy houses, trains, and people attracts San Francisco visitors and local families with children and is a sight to behold no matter how old or young you might be. Found next to the signature “Eclipse” sculpture under the myriads of hanging lights in the festively decorated atrium, the Snow Village should be observed at leisure as it holds innumerable finds and tiny treasures. There is an amusement park with carousel and Crazy Cars. There is a Christmas Wonderland toy store with carolers singing in front of it. There is a Nutcracker performance going on on a garland-decorated stage. There is a train to Santa Fe running past a Christmas tree on a town plaza. There is even a red kayak braving the icy “waters” of a shiny green lake… …There is no way to miss this little treasure during the holiday season. And while you are there, wait for a snowfall in the hotel’s atrium – it happens several times a day, and is the closest you can get to the spirit of the winter season in California. Plus, of course, skating at the Holiday Ice Rink at Embarcadero Center – right outside the hotel lobby. Hyatt Regency San Francisco is located at 5 Embarcadero Center, San Francisco.
