Mustard, Mud & Music, A Calistoga Jazz Festival - March 6 & 7 from 1:00 to 6:00 pm, Downtown Calistoga. Live jazz in a variety of venues. The festival's music lineup features some of the best jazz bands and artists in the Bay Area, including Cavanaugh/Belair, Michelle Michaels Quartet, Rick Quisol, Herb Gibson, Bob "The Stick" Culbertson, Swing Seven, The Nancy Wright Trio, Mad & Eddie, Steve Dudgeon Quartet, Mark Holzinger, Rolando Morales, Susan Sutton, Larry Vann, and Tracy Rose. The Awards: A Spicy Soirée. Napa Valley Chefs Mustard Recipe Competition and World Wide Mustard Competition Awards, March 12 at 7 pm, Black Stallion Winery, Napa. Information at: store.mustardfestival.org. The Critic's Choice recipe judging will take place behind closed doors. Cast your ballot for People's Choice Chef of the Year. World Champion Mustard Makers come to Napa Valley from around the world to walk the red carpet and receive their Napa Valley Mustard Festival World-Wide Mustard Competition Awards. Tickets are $100 in advance; $125 at the door. Dressy attire.
The Marketplace. A Signature Event for Connoisseurs, March 13 and 14, 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, along the Riverfront in Downtown Napa. Regional foods and wine, gourmet products and mustards from around the world. Highlights of this rain or shine Signature Event for Connoisseurs include a live remote broadcast of Martha Stewart Living Radio, a Sunset Magazine pavilion, and taping of Martha Stewart Living radio shows. Fine arts and crafts presented by juried artists and artisans, and live performances of jazz, world, and classical music. Adult admission to The Marketplace at $35 in advance, $40 at the door, includes eight food and five wine tasting tickets (value $1 each), plus a souvenir wine glass. Student admission at $10, ages 13 to 20, includes five food tasting tickets. Admission for children ages 6 to 12 is $5. Children under the age of 6 are admitted free. Visit participating Raley's, Nob Hill Foods and Bel Air Markets to purchase adult tickets in advance, which include a voucher for five complimentary tasting tickets. Advance tickets are available at local outlets: Antique Fair in Yountville, Art on Main in St. Helena, Embassy Suites in Napa. Admission is available at the door.
A Taste of Yountville, March 20, 11 am to 5 pm, Town of Yountville. The showcase, will feature traditional samplings of gourmet restaurant fare, olive oils, vinegars, mustards, fine wines, and micro-brews. Tasting tickets will be sold on-site. The Photo Finish, The Grand Finale Event March 27, 7:00 pm. New Location: Rubicon Estate, Rutherford. The season's beauty captured by photographers at The Photo Finish, Napa Valley wines along with sweets and savories, the Napa Valley Mustard Festival Photography Contest Exhibit. Tickets are $95 in advance; $125 at the door. Dress for a winery full of photographers!
