A Chicago-based artist’s day job is at a framing gallery, but his real passion lies within the frame. To be exact, Victor Klusho’s artwork is rarely framed. From oils and acrylics he easily switches to laborious glass, wood, and stone mosaics, and stunningly beautiful decorative lampshades and tabletops made of stained glass. This year, for the second time in a row, Klusho received a Best in Class award for his stained glass pictures. While choosing his subject matter, the artist turns to classic works of Art Nouveau, to natural landscapes and seascapes, or to everyday things, like a random bouquet of flowers or a fruit bowl on a kitchen table. Klusho creates his complex compositions made of hard to handle materials in an apartment in a Northern suburb of Chicago, which he shares with his life partner and muse, named Victoria.
