Harvest time in California means ideal weather, serene wine country landscapes, and lots and lots of tastings throughout the state. All month long, there will be free terroir tours and vineyard walks, harvest celebrations and wine country weekends in Napa, Sonoma, East Bay, Central Coast, and SoCal wineries. California’s 4,600 grape growers and 2,800 wineries are family businesses, often for many generations. They became pioneers of the “wine revolution” in the United States, inspiring the nation to grow sustainable crops, engage in environmentally-conscious production, and follow local, seasonal and farm-to-table culinary trends.
