The year is actually 4708, and the Tiger is Metal. A courageous fighter, the tiger is admired for its bright stripes that symbolize the balance between Yin and Yang. While Tigers are adventurous and able to move fast on a whim, the Chinese Zodiac symbol seems conducive to travel to exotic destinations. With a hearty Gung Hay Fat Choy, Hong Kong Tourism Board presents many reasons for American visitors to travel East. The many festivities include Entertainment Expo Hong Kong 2010, March 22 – April 18; Mui Wo Water Lantern and Sky Lantern Festival, March 26-29; and Hong Kong Musical Festival, March 31-April 21. The Cheung Chau Bun Festival, May 18-22, is a combination of unique rituals and celebratory dishes, with a Parade of Colors on May 21. In Summer, the Dragon Boat Carnival starts with the Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races and collides with Lan Kwai Fong Beer and Food Festival in July. Halloween parties and Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival continue in September and October as well as the Hong Kong International Jazz Festival. Then rolls in November – Wine and Dine Month, and the year ends with the December WinterFest famous for its fireworks over Victoria Harbor.
